We are very proud to share that last week at the AIChE Spring Meeting 2025 in Dallas, Texas, USA, our esteemed project partner Dr. Mohit Singh from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) was honored with one of the best presentation awards! 🎉
In his talk, titled “Transforming Decentralized CO₂ Sources into Renewable Fuel Production Sites: A Novel Hybrid Solution for Methanol Synthesis,” Dr. Mohit Singh presented our groundbreaking research on a novel modular and hybrid process for CO₂ capture and conversion with hydrogen into e-Methanol for decentralized point sources. This innovative approach has been successfully demonstrated at KIT’s Power-to-X lab and is now being piloted with real biogas, showcasing its practical applicability and effectiveness.
The award recognizes Dr. Singh’s exceptional contribution to the field and the impact of his research on advancing sustainable fuel technologies. His work not only demonstrates the technical feasibility of the hybrid process but also its potential to be implemented at a larger scale, transforming decentralized CO₂ sources into renewable fuel production sites.
Dr. Singh is part of the team from our esteemed project partner KIT, which plays a pivotal role in the POSEIDON project. KIT is heavily involved in the R&D of innovative solutions for CO₂ capture and conversion, including the hybrid process for CO₂ capture and conversion into e-Methanol, a core technology of POSEIDON. KIT’s Power-to-X lab serves as a test bed for demonstrating the feasibility and effectiveness of this hybrid process. Additionally, KIT provides technical expertise in the design and optimization of the modular e-Methanol production plant, which includes the development of a digital twin of the plant to simulate different scenarios and improve its operation.
Join us in congratulating Dr. Mohit Singh on this well-deserved recognition! 👏👏👏
