⚓What does it take to bring e-methanol from production to use at ports?
The POSEIDON project began by mapping the entire value chain for synthetic methanol. This key step is essential for identifying the key technologies and stakeholders at each stage, from primary resources to methanol production, including transport, bunkering and on-board operations.
In POSEIDON, the value chain mapping supports:
- Knowledge exchange across the consortium based on a common vision
- Development of realistic implementation scenarios
- Consistent assessments across case studies in Thessaloniki and Valencia
- Bringing technical requirements together with stakeholder needs
