We are honored by the inclusion of the POSEIDON project in the latest CORDIS Synergy Info Pack, entitled “Waterborne Transport for a Green Future”. This essential publication highlights the synergistic efforts of 13 EU-funded projects, including initiatives from Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020, LIFE, CEF Transport, EMFF and the Innovation Fund. These projects are overseen by the European Executive Agency for Climate, Infrastructure and the Environment (CINEA), demonstrating a concerted effort towards a more sustainable maritime industry. Valencia and Thessaloniki to prepare the implementation of local value chains based on e-methanol as fuel for shipping.
Waterborne transport, a vital artery of Europe’s economy, accounting for 77% of the continent’s external trade and 35% of intra-EU trade. However, it also contributes to 13.5% of Europe’s transport-related greenhouse gas emissions.
The POSEIDON project and its associated initiatives are committed to reducing this ecological impact.
